Laboratory Standards Update: Quality Management Requirements

CFAS Laboratory Committee releases updated quality management standards for ART laboratories.
The CFAS Laboratory Committee has released updated quality management standards for assisted reproductive technology (ART) laboratories, effective January 1, 2026.
Key Changes
The updated standards include new requirements for:
- Environmental monitoring and air quality
- Equipment validation and maintenance protocols
- Competency assessment for laboratory personnel
- Documentation and traceability systems
- Quality indicators and performance benchmarks
The Laboratory Committee will host a series of regional workshops in early 2026 to help laboratories implement the updated standards. Workshop dates and locations will be announced shortly.
